The Rocks Cry Out...

Feeling embarrassed by the Jews' enthusiasm for Jesus, the Pharisees told Jesus to shut them up. Jesus replied to them saying, "I tell you, if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out." (Luke 19:40)

Here we are 2000 years later and now it’s me feeling uncomfortable about identifying with Jesus and The Rock. While standing in a bar line on Welch Ave., a man who was “stone” drunk shouted out, "The Rock rocks!" over and over again.

It should have been me crying out. Jesus is the Rock of Ages, the cornerstone upon which all of life rests. This semester, I will not be ashamed to proclaim His name nor be identified with His people.

Welcome to The Rock, people, I'm with them.
